Please help with Finch!

Finch is one of my favourite bettas, and he's normally such a great energetic fish, but I noticed yesterday he's not doing so well... :(

Housing
What size is your tank? ~ 1 gal (I think between 1-1.5 gal)
What temperature is your tank? ~77
Does your tank have a filter? No
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration? No
Is your tank heated? Yes
What tank mates does your betta fish live with? None

Food
What type of food do you feed your betta fish? 3 different pellets, FD bloodworms
How often do you feed your betta fish? Once a day

Maintenance
How often do you perform a water change? 2-3 times/week
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? 100%
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? Prime

Water Parameters:
Don;t have a testing kit on me atm but params should be normal, wc were on Monday and the rest of my fish seem fine.


Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? Clamped fins, paler than usual
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? inactive, mostly on the ground, seems hard for him to swim to the top to breathe & eat
When did you start noticing the symptoms? Yesterday
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? Lowered the water a little to help him reach the surface
Does your fish have any history of being ill? No
How old is your fish (approximately)? ~1 year of owning him (not counting how old he was when i bought him)

Was this right after the water change...if so, make another water change and double dose the dechlorinator, turn off the light and keep the water level low like you have it and double check the temp with an independent thermometer and check the heater itself for cracks.

Sudden behavior changes after a water changes can sometimes mean-a contamination of some type, not enough or forgotten dechlorinator, heater cracked and you are getting a stray volt or heater not plugged in and the water got too cool.....

He also could be aging out......

Thanks OFL, I don't think the water was contaminated because the rest of my fish are fine and I changed everyone's water on that day. I added some extra Prime...but Finch was dead the next morning. :(
