Unhappy Stressed?! :(

I just recently bought a baby betta fish named carlos
when i first put him in his tank i only had a limited amount of gravel (neutral blue in color) and no trees...he seemed to be doing fine but i read into bettas a little more and it said they liked plants and such in their tank... so i added a lot more gravel (rainbow colored) and a small fake plant in the middle when i cleaned his tank... ever since then he has mainly stayed in the back of the tank and just pace back and forth constantly against the back wall of the tank....is he stressed? should i remove all of the things i added?!

-Thank you!
Jessica

Your fish could be stressed because suddenly the enviorment changed. Try doing what you said.

He could be seeing his reflection, and trying to learn to flare, if he is really young, and cannot flare yet, he is trying to practice..he is thinking another fishy is invading his space..

babies need more than one plant in their tank. How big is your tank? What temp do you keep it at? How often do you clean? What do you feed? How often do you feed? How much do you feed? Babies get sick and stressed easily which is why if you don't know how to properly care for them they die.

Here is a proper baby betta fish setup.

2.5-3 gallons
4 plants to hide in
New Life Spectrum betta pellets 3 three times a day
water changes 2 times a week 1 50% and 1 100%
heater warmed up to 83 degrees.
