So, i've been beating myself up for this, but I thought it was okay to put two females and a male into a community tank together. First it was only the other female flaring at her but not the male as and not I've looked and the one getting bullied has white stripes going up her body (vertical) and they're white. I'm pretty sure they're not breeding lines and i'm abit worried as I can't get into town or anything to get dividers until Saturday (it's Tuesday today) So I was just wandering would it be okay to put her in a foam cup or a vase or something that's got no heater but I would change everyday as I really want to put her out of that environment?
If you want you can use a cup or vase to add to heat make sure its covered and set it under a lamp. I find lamps can help with heating the water depending on how strong the bulb and how close it is to the tank. just make sure its not to bright, I usually add paper over the top when I turn on a lamp for my smaller tanks with no hood light. if you can possibly take a cup and clip it to the side of the community tank it will keep her warm and separate
this could work... get a peg.... and a decent size clean(no chemicals) plastic container. cut holes in it. and use the clothing pegs to attach it to the rim of the tank.... a bull clip will do well too...you may need to cut the rim of the container... depending on what you use. and for your own sake... separate all of them...
horizontal stripes ======= are usually stress stripes
verticle ||||||| are usually submission stripes
I'm going to be lol. Yeah, I might try that, I have foam cups that I got from a person who bred, those shoes be sweet, yeah? I know, I hate that I've put them together I was told it is OK, but we all make mistakes..
yeah, I am, he's rather placid (i don't like aggressiveness .. I just clipped the two girls up to the side of the tank with foam cups and cut holes in them. Kills me to see them in something so small but it's for their own good until I can get a divider. Left the male in.
Nah, I don't, I have some other plants though that I might put on top. Just went out and came home and the bully girl had actually jumped out of her cup (even though it's a tight squeeze) so I'll be putting her back in and finding something to cover it with, seeing as the lid over the cup about 1.2 cm isn't enough LOL
