CT rays won't grow

I've had this male CT for about 4 months now. His tail fin was like this when I got him, and the rays have yet to show signs of growing. They even look split at the end.

Other than that, he seems healthy. I've yet to have an issue with him, so what's going on with his tail?

Do you think he could be biting his tail?

I wouldn't think so because it doesn't get any shorter or longer.

Looks like biting, maybe he's eating the new growth? The growth is clear so maybe he keeps on biting it. You could try doing an AS treatment on him but he might as well bite... Make sure the water is extra clean and add in some IAL or washed dried oak leaves, it will help a lot.
