is it cycling? lol

Ive had my 20 gallon long set up for a maybe a week and a half now, ive been dosing it with clear ammonia, keeping it reading between 1-2, its filtered and heated with a 40gal filter and I added extra ammo carb to the cartridge. The nitrite and nitrate havent budged...is this normal at this point in time? My tank also smell gross, like a dingy basement...it has just gravel and 2 large pieces of monopi driftwood.
Sound normal?

Your tank is not cycled. Dose the ammonia up to 4, wait 24 hrs then test the water. When the ammonia drops to 1 dose back to 4. Cycling a tank can take 6-8 wks. It still has to go through the nitrIte phase. Once it processess 4 ppm of ammonia in a 24 hr period, has 0 nitrItes & <40 nitrAtes for a few days then you're cycled.

Stop using the ammo carb as it's counter productive. You are adding ammonia to the tank then using ammo carb to remove it.
