So, my tank is not cycled apparently. Today's readings were ammonia .50, nitrates 0, nitrites 0. I forgot to test the conditioned water to see if the ammonia was below .25.

I am not expert in this problem but i spoke to someone who has ammonia in her tap water and she told me that PRIME is really the best to use for that. Also she told me that it better to do 2 water changes a week though. I know she does 50% not sure what the other water change, but i can try to pm her and ask how much water she change for her tank size.

That would be good. I can't get Prime anywhere around here, so I'd have to order it. I have a 5 gallon and was doing the amount of water changes recommended by oldfishlady. I was doing 2 a week for a while after her jump to help her heal faster.

I would think if you was doing 2 a week to help for her to heal and if it helped then it probably the answer- continue to do that.
I am going to text that girl and ask what she does and i will let you know.
