what should i do about food...im not sure i can trust anyone of my friends to come feed him, ill only be gone for 3 or 4 days is ther anything i can do?

I know they have those tabs that are like 5 to 7 day fish feeders. I do believe they have them for Betta.

i wouldnt suggest a feeding block. they can greatly upset the water parameters. what would be the best thing to do is pay through the nose for a good auto feeder or just give your betta a good meal just before you leave and then feed him a good meal when you come back. but i wouldnt let him go without food for more than 3-4 days (what you said)

If you're worried about overfeeding, I always measure my fish food out in once-a-day pill boxes for my "fish sitters". Although he'll be fine for 3-4 days, he'll certainly appreciate someone coming by once and giving him a pre-measured pinch of food.
