Heater suction cups

Does anyone else find these bulky and prefer not to use them? I prop all my heaters next to the filter, either wedged in the corner or leaning against something.
This suction cups make the heater stand out too much!

Bettasaurus & Bettamort love them! They sleep on their suction cups most of the time. :)

This~ ^^

one of Narcissus' favorite sleeping spots is on the top suction cup of his heater right near the surface.

So by default, I'm not allowed to hate the suction cups lol

I do think the suction cups stink but I've always heard that you're not supposed to let the heater touch the tank or the substrate or anything. Causes uneven heating in the element. My last heater actually said this in the instructions.

Orly? XD Im glad i never have any problems then... I let the botton touch the substrate, but the heater itself isnt incontact with the tank sides. it's propped up by the rim :)

As long as it works then go for it! They probably just do that to cover their butts!

Ironically, our fish have plants, and caves, and choose to sleep on a suction cup, or a Thermometer, mine has done this a few times, and it's too funny, how they curve their body, right on the top and sleep there..lol
