Betta Tail ?

Hello, I own a male Betta fish and everything seems to be fine. But recently, I have noticed these tears in his fins and I was wondering what is the cause. Thanks for any help !

I am betting the plastic plants did it.

Actually, I have had those plastic plants for quite some time now. And only recently have I recently seen his torn fins.

I had a plastic plant that torn his fins (I removed it as once I found out) and it looked different than his tears today.

Does it kinda look like it got stuck in a paper shredder? If so, he's a tail biter. Long finned males usually bite their own tails when they get too heavy. Warm, clean water and high protein food will heal him up real quick :)

I suppose you can say that it looks like it was shredded.

When his fins are not extended, the tips look as if they were clumps.

Have you added anything new recently and how many water changes do you do, tank size, and temp.

No, I haven't added anything new recently.

I have a 10 gallon tank, 77 degrees farenheit, and I change the water 2 times a week.

How big are the water changes? Sounds like fin nipping live food helps stimulation tons and I mean tons of hiding spots helps with stimulation.
