He's been a bit more perky, and has been more energetic recently.. I've been feeding him more frozen food, mostly brine shrimp and he's back to normal behavior wise...

But that one eye is still enlarged and cloudy... Could it be a parasite? I happen to have prazipro on hand if that could be of some help?

I don't want to treat until I know what's wrong.. but I'm so stumped and I can't find any similar stories anywhere on the internet!

Have you tried aquarium salt?????? This is my first choice and it is not so toxic. Also, mixing all kinds of medicines is not my first choice. You may need to use the salt for several weeks.

don't know that. What I do know is that aq salt is the best conservative treatment. I have saved my favorite HM male who had fin rot and a cloudy eye. He remains blind in that eye, but the other eye improved and his fins are back. Another betta got fin rot and salt did no stop it. I had to go to antibiotic tx. Move the snails to another tank and treat your betta if you want to save him. I have lost 3 to this due to my lack of wait and see ---
