Housing
What size is your tank? Was in ten gal, moved to one gal for treatment.
What temperature is your tank? Steady eighty-two
Does your tank have a filter? Tank did, bowl does not.
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration? Tank did, bowl does not.
Is your tank heated? Yes.
What tank mates does your betta fish live with? Previously three platies, none now.

Food
What type of food do you feed your betta fish? Omega One floating pellets.
How often do you feed your betta fish? Usually once or twice a day, but he's refusing to eat.

Maintenance
How often do you perform a water change? In the bowl, a fifty percent each day and a total once a week.
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? 50%
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? Dechlorinator and primer.

Water Parameters:
Have you tested your water? If so, what are the following parameters?

Ammonia:
Nitrite:
Nitrate:
pH:
Hardness:
Alkalinity:
Have not tested due to high costs of kits.
Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? His fins have clamped and become darker, his body lighter.
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? He will no longer eat, and before was hiding all the time, now he rests at the surface more.
When did you start noticing the symptoms? Four-five days ago, took action ASAP, hasn't been working.
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? Thinking it was stress, moved him from the tank and performed frequent small water changes.
Does your fish have any history of being ill? No.
How old is your fish (approximately)? Full-grown when I bought him about a month ago.

Is the 1g heated now? Warm water should make him comfortable for now. If he stopped eating for 4-5 days he won't die but to encourage appetite you can soak the pellets in some garlic water (crush some garlic and add tank water then soak the pellets for a minute)
Daily 50% changes are really only necessary if you're treating him with salt or medicine. You can skip a day in the 50% changes and keep the 100%.
Where did the platy's go?? Did they die? Was the tank cycled? If they died in the tank his illness might have something to do with an ammonia spike (IF the tank is not cycled)...

The one gallon is heated, and I will try the garlic soaking, thank you. The tank was cycled {it was second hand, filter media half replaced and the rest cleaned well in the hopes of preserving some of the bacteria. The rest was cleaned very, very well and cycled live}, and the platies are not gone, they're still in the ten gallon.
