I recently bought a 5 gal. Fluval Chi that was overstocked. I gave the fish to my friend and moved my HMPK from my son's 5 gallon into the new Chi. He seemed to be doing great but tonight (about 1 week later) I caught him flashing. I have a 29 and 45 being treated for velvet with Crypto-pro right now (those fish are finally looking better) but I'm worried I may have cross contaminated my new tank somehow. I don't see any gold dust on my betta (checked his gills with a flash light) but there may be a black spot. I can't tell if it's his beard or not because this feisty boy does not hold still long. He still has a great appetite too. Should I purchase more crypto-pro and dose his tank to be safe or is there another effective product out there that doesn't cost as much? I thought of Maracide but haven't heard much about it. I tried copper in my other tanks and it didn't do anything. That's why I'm now using crypto-pro. Any help or advise is welcome.
