Curious- how to battle this kind of filter

I like this filter, it's very silent, it came with my tank setup, but current from the nozzle seems a bit too much for my betta in the 5g.

Ideas how to baffle the spray nozzle? Been thinking of putting a sponge on it.

Or perhaps I should just give up and leave it unfiltered, I was asking cause it seems such a waste :)

Can you baffle the intake? That should slow the output. Put a sponge in or around the intake. Or fashion some kind "break" directly in front of the output so it slows it down but doesn't plug it, if that makes sense.

Good idea, I already put a sponge on the intake so their fins wouldn't get hurt just incase but didnt think about putting an obstacle on the outtake :D thankS!

Can you point the outtake directly at the wall of the tank? would that help?

Is that a Tom's? Good filter. I like the quietness of a fully-submerged filter.

My Hagen Elites are similar to yours; they're also too strong. I take a 3"x5" piece of 1/2" filter foam and sew it into a 3" long tube and slip this over the outlet. Baffles well. And it provides more media for cultivating bacteria.
