as said Do Not add a female.
as for the bubblenest. it is a good thing. when a male is ready for a girl, it means he is happy and healthy enough to mate. the bubble nest is for holding the eggs but again just because he has the bubbles dosnt mean he need a mate. he'll be just fine without one.

I LIKE THIS SITE....THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE HELP...AND I DO HAVE A GOLD FISHES...FOR THIS TANK IS IT OK TO PUT LIVE PLANTS AND WHEN THE WATER GETS DIRTY HOW CAN I CLEAN IT...CAUSE I USE THE GRAVEL CLEANER WHICH SUCKS THE DIRT...IN THIS CASE WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH THE PLANTS?!

I would not advise putting Gold Fish and Betta together...Gold Fish is a cold water fish and Betta is a tropical ..he needs his water 78-80 degrees F.
Also the Goldfish may beat up your Betta..I rescued my Sugar from a goldfish tank in a petstore...he was pretty traumatized...he's spoiled now.
