Glad to hear it =) When he gets those stripes every time I take him out of the tank for his water change I really wonder if there's anything else I could be doing for him. Having him swim into a cup is easier than netting. But then he figures out he's in a cup and has a fit.

I thought about that, but I made sure to wait for the temperatures to be within what he's used to, which is 79-81F. I've been very careful with that this week with his water changes, and he seems way less stressed.

I wonder if it's because I attempted a fish in cycle. I mean he did move from a plastic tank to a glass one, and saw his reflection and freaked for 3 hours no matter what I did to deter him, ended up putting a towel over the tank so he'd have a chance to calm down. Maybe he was constantly more stressed because he immediately had to 'defend' his territory?

I meant what he's used to. I'm careful not to shock him with the changes.

But in any case it'll be clean and cycled before either betta hits the 10g. Same with the snails I guess.

Aaaah, that weekend is so far away~ ;-; I'm so excited and want to go to the store now~~~ ;-;

3 degrees is a huge temp change. 4 degree change can kill.

I try really hard to keep it within 1 degree if I can't get it to the same as before. What I've been doing is preparing the water a few hours before doing the change so that the water sits and is room temperature. Then I test it, compare it, then do the switch so he's not in his cup for long at all. he's doing much better. Think I'll switch him back to fresh water and re-add his things and just keep up with water changes.

I just pour the water in because big bodies of water temp changes are harder.

Hmm...I always thought you had to remove the fish. I'll try that and see what he thinks.
