OP - Oh OK, just remember that with a filter, just don't do water changes. Once he's healthy again, we'll start on cycling. If you want to, Aquarium Salt treatment can help him. 1 teaspoon/gallon and premix it in water with conditioner. Then do 100% changes for 7-10 days. Good luck!

Choc, why disagree? The OP has plants and a filter in his/her main tank.

This is a 5 gallon with filter, and plants. I do a 75% change in my 3.5 gallon with a filter, I think a 5 gallon with plants and a filter would do. And yes, your wording isn't rude at all. :)

I tried taking the best pictures I could. Let me know if these work or if I should try again.

Is it okay to do aquarium salt with the fungus guard in there or should I do another change now? The breathing makes me anxious...

He's a CT, known for those spiky fins. Unless they're uneven and some are missing?? And they work. :) Just keep him in a QT tank and keep the water shallow and clean. Add in IAL or washed dried oak leaves.

I'm afraid I don't understand your question.

As I said before, you don't need the fungus medication because this isn't fungus. You can try the treament of the AS for 10 days, though. With conditioner, nothing else.

Okay I will try that. So just to clarify I should do a change now to get rid of the fungus guard that is in there, keep the filter off, and put aquarium salt in everyday with a 100% water change for 10 days?
