Sick betta

"Old blue" is three years old and seems to have a growth on his dorsal fin. He isnt eating much, isnt very active and stays at the bottom of his bowl :( This is my first betta, please help!

Sorry to hear your beautiful betta is unwell, Growths on the fins don't usually affect the health of the betta unless it grows and reaches the body. I once had a betta that had a rare type of tumor on his anal fin, a good friend of mine who is pretty much a fish vet opperated on him and removed the weird looking tumor that looked like a bunch of grapes, my betta fully recovered and was fine. Does your boy have any other symptoms of illness? I am sorry I could not be of more help, does your camera have a macro setting? if so activate it when you take a pic of your boy because macro is great for showing fine detail, good luck and let me know how he goes

I cant tell from the pics - is it fuzzy?

Not fuzzy. The other side (not pictured) shows just a lump. I will take a better photo and upload tomorrow. Other symptoms include lack of appetite, sluggish and hangs out at the bottom of the bowl. He also struggles to swim - uses the side of the bowl to make his way to the top.

Not sure what that is but he may just be showing his age.
if he can;t get to the top easily, you can lower the water level
