I baffled my whisper 10i filter using the good old plastic cylinder from a soda bottle. However, I feel like the edges are too sharp and may have sliced through my halfmoon's fin while getting caught in the current.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to dull the edges? Or another material I can use that will not be so sharp?
Great! I am actually On my way to Petco cos I decided I wanted an anubias plant for my tank! Thanks for the suggestion. I was going to get just a generic sponge w no treatment added to it, but couldn't find one. Thanks for all your help! :)
i am having issues withvmy 5 gallon fluval spec tank, the outflow for the filter is like a little nossel but its very strong current it seems even with the pump on the low setting,so i used the soda bottle baffle,it seems sharp and i dont want to risk slicing my fish up,
how safe is it using a piece of foam stuck in place over the outlet? i tried it and the water coming out seemed very gentle but im just afraid it might burn out the motor or it might lessen the flow of water that gets filtered per hour in my tank
any input on how the foam will affect the filtering capacity?
Hmm. I'm not exactly sure. I rubber band the foam right underneath the outflow, so all of the clean water gets deposited through the foam into the water. I didn't put anything inside of the filter itself to baffle the flow.
Does anyone else know the answer to Juicebox's question? :)
