Sushi Quade Leo "SQL II"

So I'm new here. I had a blue little betta named SQL I, but sadly he committed suicide last week. I had a covered tank knowing that bettas jump, but he somehow managed to lift the flap. Extremely upset, I went and adopted SQL II "Sushi" for short. He's a rescue from Petsmart and very tiny. I'm hoping he'll grow a bit. He was marked a "Half Moon Betta" but I honestly can't tell exactly what he is since he's so tiny.

Any ideas??

Nobody? I'm not what I'd consider full of betta knowledge like some of you on here. Do you think he's a Half Moon? I don't trust Petsmart "expertise"..

It would be easier to tell if he was flaring but don't stress him out just to get a good falre out of him lol. I can't tell if his fins are just ragged from bad petstore care or that is his natural fin shape. If it is natural, he could be a rose/feathertail halfmoon. It's hard for me to tell but he is between a halfmoon and a DeT (delta tail). Beautiful tank setup and fish you have there :)

Thanks! Yeah since he's young and new to the mansion he has here, I didn't want to stress him out for a picture. I'd say probably bad pet store care plays into him, because when there I found 4 dead fish :(

He was the one that seemed real excited to see me..still is..gets real excited when I feed him, too!

I just hope he grows into a healthy little guy and I loved that he was so white!

Such a pretty betta! I think feather tail.. but petstore care or simply because he's so young could factor.
