Will a betta take advantage of a 10 gallon tank?

I had one of my males in my 20 long all by himself and he LOVED it :) He is also a show-quality halfmoon, with the biggest fins I've ever seen. He had no problems getting around. As long as it's well planted, a male betta is happy in a large tank. In the wild they defend territories that are about 3 square feet. If you want a fish that will zip around faster, plakats tend to be quicker since they don't have the fin baggage.

Thanks. I actually put about 4 plants in my 10g tank along with a large log cave that also have 3 or 4 plants on it. So far Commander Shepard is loving his new home and is very curious about everything.
