Algae Scrubbers

has anyone ever used an algae scrubber in their betta tanks before..?

i am currently working on building an algae scrubber for my 55g goldfish tank i am setting up..

i am also working on adding a screen to my HOB filter for my betta tanks...

I have found they do not help. Extra water changes really seem to kill algae. If you scrub the algae and then do a water change. You might have a nitrate bloom. I would add pothos to the lid.
