Hmm... This sounds to me like ammonia poisoning, but it doesn't make any sense since the water changes are so frequent o.0 Have you ever tested the parameters of your tap water?

He is doing a lot better when I checked on him. O.o I think he loves giving me a heart attack

Did he start acting strange before or after you added the salt? Maybe he was just having a bad day at the time, lol.

He has shredded his tail to bits, I think with all the rips it created drag or something so he is reluctant to swim? I have no idea

So is it tail biting rather than fit rot? Generally fin rot is caused by bad water conditions so that's kind of what made me think it could be ammonia, coupled with the lethargy.

But if he's doing better then I highly doubt it. I hope he makes a full recovery :)
