Yeah, it really depends. Pellets are usually used because for the most part, they are all the same size so it's easier not to overfeed. That's the most common reason people prefer pellets over flakes. I don't think flakes are necessarily bad, but I prefer pellets. Also, when my betta was being picky and not eating, it was easier to scoop out uneaten pellets than flakes, IMO.

I really enjoy when it's treat days for the boys, And they get either frozen brine shrimp, or frozen blood worms. They will usually just grab them right from the package before I get to drip some into their tanks. It seems like they are extra happy those days!

Noooo! They flap their little fins because they are happy to see me! And want to play the nuzzle up and show affection game! It's never the food thing :-p well at feeding time it is lol
