We use formaldehyde to treat sick fish as well. Anything in fish medicine called "formalin" is the same thing, just diluted. So, fun fact there. It's pretty common still, even.

Well I guess it's not as dangerous as I thought? I just went to the hospital a couple days ago and it said everywhere that formaldehyde causes cancer and yadda yadda yadda so I freaked out.

A lot of the drugs used in treating fish are carcinogenic. Including formalin. But you won't get cancer from touching it a little bit.

Some consumers are using Fish Mox as a low cost alternative for doctor and dentist visits. This kind of stuff scares me lol.
