I forgot to add that it should be crystals so they don't have to use anti caking agents. I grind mine finer in a mortar and pestle and mix it in thoroughly with the water before I add it to the tank.

Sakura told me 3 teaspoons for every gallon and that has been MAGIC.

Just dissolve the salt before adding it into your tank.
