which light bulb would be best?

on a budget, i was looking at walmart and home depot for a new 24 inch t12 bulb. ideally it seems i need to find a day light 6500 bulb but im having trouble finding it. they only are stocking 36 inch day bulb at my HD and walmart has no 6500 bulb. i realize i can go to petstore and pay double but im not sure its worth it.

so here are my choices.

HD
plant/aqua bulb 2700k $12
natural light 5000k $11

walmart
forgot the name 4100k $7
kitchen bath 3000k $7
plant and aqua 3100 $8

if these arent satisfactory then there is still a chance i might find some other bulbs at smaller hardware stores later. just seems odd that plant aqua bulbs are so far off in the color dept.

What kind of plants do you have ?

Any light that has a color temp range between 5000 - 6500K should be perfectly adequate for any aquatic plants.

k thanks. weird how the plant aqua lights are near 3000k. i drove out to lowes and found they had a day light at 6500k. some times the stores here dont stock the right stuff so its good to know that the 5000k is better then the plant aqua lights.

If you are running two bulbs then using 5000k and 10000k can be fine. However with one bulb you will want to have 6500k bulb.
