Heaters?

are there any submersible heaters that are okay to be turned on without water?

I just went through my 3rd heater in 4 months.
For some reason I never think to unplug them when I do water changes. Once a month I do about a 75% change (every other week in the month is 25%) and whatever brand I have in there breaks.
I know the smartest thing would be to just unplug the heater. But my memory is horrible so that's going to be a little hard for me.

The Hydor Theos I have turn off if they aren't submersed far enough but I'm still not sure if its a good idea to leave it plugged in without water lol.
