Eating Bubbles

Hi guys,

I've been around the forums a bit on this site, but haven't made an account until now....Mainly because any question I've had has already been answered.

One thing I'm having trouble finding now, though, is if it's common for bettas to eat bubbles? I've got a female who's recently started trying to eat bubbles off the surface of her water as if they're food, and while she seems perfectly healthy (good color, no fin clamping, interested in actual food), I have to wonder, is this okay? And if it's not, how in the world do I stop her eating air?

I just brought my guy home yesterday and hes done it a couple times. I figured it was just something for him to do like play. or maybe they do think its something to eat. I dont think theres anything to be worried about, I haven't read anything that says otherwise.

Bettas will try to eat anything that can fit in their mouths. Bubbles, poop, gravel, you name it, it's been eaten by a betta XD Since it's just air I wouldn't worry, I don't think any harm can come of it.

She's either showing aggression, or it's possible she may think it's food. I had a betta that did this. It's nothing to be worried about.

My girl will do that, especially if I'm near the tank and she thinks I've dropped food in. She will also try to catch water droplets dripping down the outside of her tank or sometimes, she will jump and try to get the water droplets off the lid of her tank if the lighting is just right. She also chases around my turkey baster as I'm sucking up her poo, trying to catch the yucky stuff I'm cleaning out. So, it sounds perfectly normal to me.
