I have a 3 gallon tank that I want to add something to. I currently have my male crowntail betta fish living in there. I have never had live plants in a tank before. For the size, I don't think that any of the bottom feeders would work but I am open to anything. I currently have a plastic plant and a small statue. The tank is heated and kept around 80* and is also filtered. The tank is in an area of low light. What do you think would work for the tank and me?
Not much can join your betta in that tank other than maybe shrimp and there is no saying if they can get away well enough to avoid being delicious snacks to your betta.
Hardy plants: Java fern, java moss, marimo moss ball, and anubias are my favorites, plus they are very hardy.
what about a nerite snail, mayb would be an option after u add your plants,or a couple of malaysian trumpet snails, something to look at and u dont really need to take care of them, they will eat left over betta food particles and algea
