I appreciate that you're just trying to be helpful but theses are not my first Bettas I know what I'm doing. They are a soft plastic/rubber they are not sharp and I've done the pantyhose test on them to make sure they are safe for Pepe's fins.

On a little side note I started noticing a little discoloration in Pepe's fins the day before last, today its a little more pronounced.......(well I thought it was discoloration until I saw him flare today) I guess I got my blue Betta after all

Well I know sometimes people that are inexperienced with pet keeping get so excited about their new pet, don't do their research and its really hard to tell them "hey you aren't doing this right" its not because you are being rude its because you want to help. I have been in your shoes many times, not with Bettas though with Guinea Pigs.

You sound like a very good person. You also sound open too new ideas. I have to admit I have trouble accepting new ideas.
