Your tank looks great! I think I might try using sand in my next tank (along with more live plants), I love the way it looks too. Your fish are very lucky!

Also, I think the bowls they lived in before were kind of cute - nice set ups and looks like you kept them nice and clean :)

the only advice i could give you would be to put some plants near the divider as a visual barrier (amazon swords would be great for this!) that way they don't have to constantly stare at each other and feel the need to be on guard.

How many days of filteration did it take for your sand? I really want sand but it'll require me to put him in his boring 1 gal tank until it clears up. But I really want to do sand because it looks so great.

My Sand cleared up quick. If you want Amazon sword I would suggest those nutrient substrate as a layer.

I have read if you use enough plants and do extra water changes you can skip cycling.
