Feeding my betta

Does anybody know exactly how many flakes you should feed a betta today? I also am going to buy some of the pellots eventually and need to know how much of that I would need to feed my betta a day. I don't think the pet stores know what there talking about when I ask them

2-3 pellets twice a day is how much I feed mine. Pellets are best. New Life Spectrum or Omega One are the most recommended brands. You might spend a little more on those brands but they're better for your fish. As for flakes, I'm not sure. Just a few small pieces. They don't need too much food, they can go weeks without eating if necessary.

Skip one day of feeding a week though.

If you're going with flakes, give your betta about 4 of them daily; wash your hands thoroughly before feeding.

When you switch to pellets, 2-3 should be the daily amount.

Remember, a betta's stomach is approximately the size of its eyeball. If you overfeed it, a Swim Bladder Disease/Disorder could develop. And that could lead to an infection and kill your little guy. Or, being too heavy from the food could cause them to drown-they surface to breathe oxygen as well. Feeding them twice a day with half the amount recommended each time is much better than feeding them all 2-3 pellets at once. And skip feeding one day per week to let their digestive systems rest. Good luck with your new Betta!

This is usually true. Remember that they are just out for your money more often than anything. Hence why "betta bowls" are popular.

Check around before you buy or do anything with your fish :3

Good luck, bettas are amazing!
