Quick question on gravel/tank

Had some left over gravel and decided my betta tank could use something so I don't have to look at poo every other day. Anyway, added in the gravel and now the water is cloudy. It has a filter running. Should I wait til it clears up to re-add my betta or will he be okay to be in the cloudy water now?

I have him in his betta cup from the store floating in the tank right now

Gravel should be rinsed very very well.. It sounds like it didn't get rinsed enough.
