these days I feed my fish mostly live food (as in live live, not frozen)
These includes scuds, black worms and bloodworms
blackworm is actually a very healthy staple. Since I have my own cultures, I also know it's very clean, disease and parasite free (as opposed to store bough black worms).

Frozen and freeze dried bloodworms are not as nutritious as live ones, and live ones also lack certain nutrients. IMO blackworms are the most nutritionally balanced live food that I have which can adequetly replace pellets and flakes. (mind you I have a bazillion different types of dry foods too!)
