I know I posed this pic on this site before, but bettas will be bettas and some of them are just weird.
That's what I'm woried with he is always nipping, and haveing blow outs he likes to roll around in his gravel which is not making things better.

Kaoru's only tore a fin on a plant. Gems are not sharp, and natural like stones gravel that looks polished is also very smooth unlike colored gravel.

Ever think your bettas bored that is why he is nipping?

He always seems like he entertains himself just fine. I come home from classes and notice he has a bit of fin missing. He is defiantly my problem child.

If his fin is damaged. Look how close the tear is too the body.

Most of the time it's the edge of his fins, but some times it's right in the middle then he goes to fighting his reflection in the tank and it turns into a blow out.

Bettas can hurt there fins by flaring too much.

I know and he certainly love to flare. Which is were most of the damage comes from.
