I wonder where this writer got the idea that sand isn't good for rooted plants. I mean, I guess if it is a plant that requires iron, but you could use root tabs? http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/sand.php

My guys get their veggies in their food (handmade food). Squash and peas right now.
Spinach is good, kale, chard.. Darker greens (high iron) are best for them.

It would not surprise me if a little live food is good.

MadMonahan, I'm sorry about your fish. We've all done that before. I hope they're doing better.

Sweet. Good thing I've been attempting to eat more veggies. These pudgys should help ;)
Hubby already came up with a "group name" for them. The Pudgy Gang. hehe

Just lost patriot, will have to take him back tomorrow. I just got him yesterday. Mr.Grumpy is barely hanging in there. Also got him a few days ago so if he doesn't make it I will have to take him back...

Sorry bout that Mad. You did everything you could. Sending healing vibes to the current ones fighting.

I'm prepping some of my sand and I can't remember if the sand I bought from PetsMart for Spike's tank acted like mud when I rinsed it. I tink it did :/

I just remembered that we're replacing the silicone. So the sand is gonna have to sit in a bucket :P

Do I have to remove EVERY little piece of silicone? Even if it is wedged into the tiny crack of both glass pieces?
