What kind/color of betta do I have?

And does he look healthy to the trained eye? We are betta newbies, but we fell in love with him because he was different than others we've seen.

The striped effect on his gill continues on his body as he swims about depending on the light. At first I was worried about the spots on him but there has been no change, so it looks maybe like just part of his coloration? He seems to be a mix of blue, turquoise, and a coppery gold depending on how the light is hitting him...at times much more blue (2nd pic...forgive, it's just a cell phone shot.)

So is he just a pretty "mutt"? We like him just fine no matter what he is!

wow that's a very pretty Betta!! im not an expert at figuring out what type they are, but i think its called a veiltail.

Yup... thats a veiltail. He's very pretty! The spots are natural.

Any ideas on color? Not sure what to call him lol bluish goldish coppery turquoise with tiger stripes--!

By the way the cell phone pic does show off the blue but normally his coppery gold color is quite prominent.

He's either a bicolor or multicolor (can't decide if the turquoise is different enough from the blue to be a third color).
