A new enthusiast!

Hi all. I'm pretty new to the board, but I was so worried about my boy that I skipped the intro and went straight to ask advice, so here's my 'intro.'

I can't say that I've ever been a fish person. I had a goldfish as a child that I won in a carnival game, but my mom cleaned the bowl. My fiance has two tanks - a 30 gallon and a 20 gallon that I've gotten some experience with, so I wanted to try my hand at a tank of my own.

I decided to buy a 5 gallon and learned that about the only thing that would be happy in it was a betta, so I bought a red VT from Walmart. He was the cutest thing and I fell in love with his sweet face, but unfortunately I was ignorant and didn't realize he would get caught in the filter. He fought, but didn't make it. I was heartbroken.

I debated on whether or not to get another, and decided to give it one more try. I ended up with another red VT from Walmart. Since then it's been an addiction. I now have two divided 10g tanks - one with three boys in it (HM named Myron, DT named Tuffy (who is my profile pic) and the VT named Trigg - points for anyone who knows where I got the names) and the other with one (a HM Plakat) that I rescued from Petco tonight after seeing it on the shelf for over a month. My fiance has told me I can't have anymore, which is a good thing because I want to rescue them all!

These forums have been very helpful in educating me and helping me with any questions I have, so thanks to all for sharing their knowledge!
