AUUGGHHHH FRED. Why must your fins be so big and heavy and delicate. It seems like it's so much easier to just keep him in the little .5gal(but he's not happy like that). Small slit in his anal fin now from just being really active I'm assuming. It will heal. Jeez, he's going to be mangled! Maybe I should get the mr aqua tank instead so he can just live with smooth rocks, no filter(I don't mind doing a complete change, 5gal is small.) and a bunch of plants.

I think half moons are really beautiful but darn...their finnage is so heavy and fragile. >.< My next fish will definitely not be an HM. I want an HMPK (dumbo)/spade tail/cute marble/etc. The symmetry/branches of those guys are gorgeous. Need to go look at pictures of mac auley's fish xD Maybe that will get me lovin those HM's again.

I agree with you Butterfly. I have one halfmoon and he is so haphazard with his beautiful fins. I give him nice clean and warm water, but he still wants to swim his tail into everything.. I am certainly not getting a halfmoon next. I'd like a doubletail but Petco sells them for like 16 bucks. Absurd.

One of my friends has a bright blue halfmoon, and takes pretty good care of him (his tank is only about a gallon, but the fish seems happy and my friend keeps the tank clean). Hes really pretty but for whatever reason Ive never wanted one. This sounds lame but my favorite type is actually veiltail.

I also really like HMPKs though.

And Magilla, my king betta, scares me sometimes. I put food in his tank and he jumped out of the water grabbing it! O.O
