Well in case anyone else was wondering...it looks like they have two different betta pellets; the "baby" pellet and the "perfectly size" pellet. The baby pellets seem to have better ingredients and the perfectly size are crap. I don't know why they would do that though...

These are the better ones....unless Drs Foster & Smith are lying about the ingredients....Which I don't think they are...

Far as I know the first ingredient is now whole wheat... says so at the ones at my LFS.

ETA: those are the old ingredients. I don't think they've switched back, far as I know.

Maybe they haven't updated their website. IDK.

Yeah if they don't make two different types of betta pellets then they really need to update their stuff because that is false advertisement...

Ugh. This is what I feed my fish. Should I not be feeding him that? I'm hearing new life spectrum is the best?

Correct. NLS has fish protein in the first 4 ingredients, which is important for carnivorous fish like bettas. It offers complete nutrition as a staple food.

If you do have Hikari and it is the "perfectly size" pellet. Then it's pretty much crap as far as ingredients. I'm sorry :(

I'm not sure which one mine is...but as soon as I can get to a petsmart/petco, I'm changing foods. I know that much for sure.

I feed Goblin and Golem a Top Fin brand pellet. I'm not positive of the ingredients though.

Just so you know, I just picked up some hikari betta bio-gold tye other day. The first ingredient is fish meal and they say they use premium fish meal. Theres krill meal in there too. :) So it's good :)

Unless it says whole fish it's just byproducts.. that's what fishmeal is unless it specifically says. That's better than wheat being #1 tho.
