Yeah it's not supposed to be used indefinitely on betta's but you didnt know so dont worry too much about it, most people assume since its safe for most fish its safe for betta's.
I would say that his issues are probably from the salt, i'd do a 50% change when you get home and then another 50 in a couple days so that you can get most of that salt out of there. warm-clean-saltless, water will probably do best for him right now. You can also add slime coat!

After doing a 25% change yesterday, Speck came back to life a little bit. He swam around and even ate a little. About to do another 25% change. Pictures below. Very lethargic again today.
