A bit of bad luck, yet--my muse helped me

So what's the bad luck?

While I was cleaning the tanks and minding my own buisness my sister comes in, she notices my NEW glass heaters and sees that they are hot as she tries to pick them up to ask me something about them.

I was distracted listening to my own music not realizing she was there until I saw the heaters slip out of her hand and fall on the floor.

CRASH.

I'm glad my sister is okay which was my first worry, then I proceeded to be mad as I lost 2 NEW heaters in one go >_>

I was getting the tanks ready as I was getting two new bettas to join my family... Plakats this time as HMs are beautiful but they give me a headache sometimes (tail biting, blown fins...), besides I just discovered that some plakats are beautiful in their own way. And waited for a breeder friend to mature a few fry for me.

I was freaking out because I only had 1 spare heater left... I wanted to call off my friend but he was already on his way.

So, what did I do? I looked around.

I had a 5g that was empty, 1 heater and 2 new bettas on their way.

I needed something temporary till I could afford 2 more heaters again... My first thought was to divide the 5g, but I didn't have the right materials. Plus the betta's were quite small and would find a gap somehow.

So, I grabbed the smallest/decent sized containers, put them in the 5g with a little bit of water, where the heater would heat the water.

The warm water would heat up the containers in return.

BAM solution XD

An odd temporary one, but a solution nonetheless lol.

I got a red cooper plakat, and a monster, marbling betta :3

I have no name for the red one yet, but the blue is gonna be called Duran. The third betta on the right is my female Natsuki.

I'm in love with that blue!!

Sucks you lost 2 heaters, but atleast you have a spare, and a temp way to work around it!! And glad your sister is okay. Hopefully she doesn't do that again.

Glad your sister is ok! We're the heaters expensive? Will they be hard to replace? Xx

Glad she is okay, sucks about the heaters though :(

Make sure they are turned off and cooled before removing them from the tank, as they have potential to explode or damage if outside of water and hot...

Yeah it was my bad really, i set up the tanks forgetting that i didnt rinse them first and when i did i didnt allow the heaters to cool off.

At least nothing extremely bad happened and my fishies are warm xD
