Water Changes: You take out water and add fresh because if you don't the tank gets full of poop and pee.

Conditioner and Declorinator: It takes the stuff out of the water that makes them sick

Heater: To keep my fishy warm because he can't wear a coat.

Filter: It makes his water clean.

Bubbler: It puts air in the water so the fishy can breath good.

Why you can't take him out of the water: Can you breath when you are in water? No? Well fishy can't breath very good out in the air. And when they get dry, they die, so he always has to stay wet.

Amonia test: To see how much pee and poop is in the water. Green in this tube is bad (API test kit) and means they need fresh water.

What about something for beginners, to make sure they get off to a good start? For example:

1) So many choices! Why do these bettas look different?
(An introduction to the different types of bettas: VT, CT, DT, HM, etc.)

2) What do I need to keep my betta healthy?
(Equipment & supplies needed: Tank types and sizes, heater, decor and plants, water conditioner, etc.)

3) Welcome home! How do I introduce my new betta to his future home?
(The acclimation process.)

4) Feed me! How do I know how much to feed him?
(Types of food, frequency/amount to feed.)

5) My betta deserves to live in the Taj Mahal! How do I decorate his tank?
(Decorations and plants to make your betta live like royalty.)

6) Is my betta lonely?
(Suitable (and unsuitable) tankmates for your betta, along with the requirements (tanksize, etc) needed to accommodate his new roommates.)

7) Help! My betta just ____! What should I do?
(Common betta issues, the supplies to have on hand, and how to treat your ailing betta.)

Hm, I didn't describe the answers the questions. I just posed them. :/

Hmmm, about the AQ I have never used it long term. I had to use Epsom for a partial long term thing.. A little fella had SBD that would not go away for months!

Definitely I have "MUST READ" as the "parent" section, with sub-sections within it including illnesses.

Oh and include a section on wild bettas as they have a different look and social interactions.

I would love a nice section explaining tail types and patterns with pictures. Everyone just explains it or just provides one example. I think 2 or 3 pics would really be helpful when novices are trying to identify their betta or a disease it has.

I have never used it long term either, but a lot of newbies think that its okay to use AQ long term to prevent disease because other websites say its okay for other species of fish. Its not okay for betta's long term, I think it'll cause kidney failure eventually? But anyways, its a common misconception out there and a lot of newbies make their betta's sick even though they think they are helping by using it as a preventative.
