better thermometers

I have heard mixed reviews and read them on sale websites. which kind is the best/most accurate. There are the ones you stick on the outside, the suctioncupped ones inside and the floating ones.

I want a mix of affordable but reliable, any suggestions?

I use nothing but the ones that suction cup to the inside. To me it makes more sense because its in the water. I put it opposite corner of my heater. My 46g has 2 in different places at different levels, lets me know the tank water is evenly heated.

You will want one that goes on the inside of the tank... Any will do as they consist of basically the same material.. The outside stick on ones tend to not be accurate because the surrounding air also plays a factor in their readings.

I got my suction cup thermometer for 3 or 4 bucks and have had no regrets (marineland brand, i believe).

I have "floating" glass thermometers with a suction cup. They go inside the tank.

Like this one from Petsmart - $2.99:

thanks everyone!
one of my tanks is acrylic and the other is glass with a suction cup thermometer, the acrylic tank has no thermometer yet, that is why I was asking. hoping to hit up a pet store this weekend and pick one up.
