I Love to use the fluval sponge to protect the intake of my filters -- I use this in my shrimp tanks as well as betta tanks. It is easy and cheap and provides biomedia for your tank. My shrimp feast on what it collects!

I went to 2 LPS in my area. They had a nice selection but they were a little pricy. Petco had some big pieces for less than $10 bucks. My tank is a lot smaller than yours so I had to cut it down with a chop saw (mopani wood is really hard). Just make sure you boil it for a long time before you put it in your tank. I had it cooking on the stove for 2 hours and changed the water after 1 hour.

I guess no one around here carries real wood pieces so i settled for a fake one for now. but I went over every inch of it to ensure there wont be any torn fins.

i do plan on more plants but the ones at the local stores were pretty sickly looking atm.
And i was going to take the white rocks out but the frogs love crawling in them so they will stay for now. thanks for the ideas everyone.

I think it looks good! You could get more plants and make a sorority!

Looks very nice, the second time around! I actually just bought two more of those grassy plants for my tank (cant remember the name)
