I use the fluval sponge pictures below. It goes on the intake just like a cap. No cutting, tying, or anything. And to clean, I just squeeze it out in aq water! Easy!

Oh I'm going to get that too, but they don't seem to baffle the flow...

They baffle the out flow a little bit, because it is sucking in water slower, but its not a whole lot. It's also good to protect the betta fins from the intake. I actually baffle my intake and outflow, but I don't have one of these handy things, I just stuffed some filter sponge in the intake.. gets kinda gross sometimes, haha, but its probably just that good bb? Right? Thats just what I tell myself to feel better when I have to touch it..

I've never seen one of those in person, but it looks like a pretty soft sponge, what if you got two and cut one long ways sorta like the pop bottle baffle and used it as an out flow baffle?

I use aquaclear sponge to baffle but the outflow is well above waterline so the bettas has no contact with the sponge.

Not sure what brand would be softer...
Maybe this stuff? kinda looks like a cloth to me
