Need help with betta fish names

hi i will be buying my first betta fish soon and i have been trying to think of a good name for him. yes i plan to buy a male but just in case i would like to no some female names to. so if you have any good names that i can use let me no. or if you just want to talk that's cool to. thank you ps. i all ready have my tank set up and i plan to buy my betta in the 2 weeks or so.

I know it sounds crazy, but fish kind of name themselves. Kind of like a dog. Until he or she is in front of you, you will never know what their name is. There should be a thread around here somewere with our stories of how we came up with names for ours for some inspiration.

Take Gus for example. I wasn't planning on getting a fish until November. It was the 1st week of October and I was uptown buying supplies for my birthday trip to Vegas when I saw his pitiful little bum! I HAD to buy him because if I didn't he would have died. I used part of my Vegas supply money to buy him and a few basics. Since I used my Vegas money for him, I named him Gus

i tend to stare at my fish or anything i plan to name and then wait for the first letter to pop into my head. the letters eventually come one by one and i just make a name as close to the sound my tongue blunts out

i am not the best namer of liveing things. i all ways want to give things names that are out of this world some thing that no one eles has. i wiil list some of my name ideads down below. the point is that this time i wanted a name that was more common and some thing that was esay for other people to spell. thank you everybody for your great info.

hi i gust got back from petsmart with my first betta. it's a twin tail halfmoon male betta. he is kind of blueish green. hard to see in the pics. i got to get a better web cam. anyway he seems to love his new home. he is swimming all over the place. he also seems to be very healthy, he ate two pellets as soon as i gave them to him. i have not named him yet. let me know what you think. thank you

he's kind of hard to see like you said but the first name that popped into my head when I was him was Poseidon.
