Does your betta hover?

I am aware that bettas swim primarily with their pectoral fins, unlike other fish that use their caudal fins for propulsion. One thing that I do not recall seeing other bettas do, however, is hover. Odysseus ALWAYS has his pectoral fins going like mad, even when he is resting on something. This is true in perfectly still water and true in his filtered aquarium. It's like a hovering effect. Is my fish weird or do other bettas do this?

Mine do it too. Sometimes they're perfectly still & other times its like treading water.

Mine do that sometimes, and other times they don't, it doesn't matter what type of water it is.

I found that my males used to love to hover. I don't think I've seen my females do it yet. I find it cute how they hover around with their pectorals.

Mine does, I think it's funny. He looks like a zombie. He's probably just napping :)

All fish do it.. they swim and if they see something (food or danger) they will stop and be very still other than their pectoral fins.
