Not if they have adequate cover to hide in. I think I've provided enough cover in my tank (it was planted with shrimp in mind). I understand that you are concerned about the welfare of the Animals, but I would also like to let you know that I am not new to aquariums, just new to shrimp (I have 9 years experience in breeding swordtails and platys). I understand the bio load concept and am prepared to deal with the testing (daily) and water changes (weekly x2 and as needed) that accompany owning these animals. I am fully prepared to deal with the consequences of owning these animals.
I would also like to remind you that the purpose of this thread was not to determine stock levels, but rather if I needed to wait for my invertebrates to arrive before transferring my betta to his new tank. I thank you all for your concern for the welfare of the animals, but do not wish to discuss the stocking matter any further.
(Sorry if this comes out sounding harsh but I feel like I am being attacked, which is not why I joined this forum; I joined it so that I could connect with like minded enthusiasts and stop driving my friends and family nuts with my fishy stories)
