Question PH Levels

Hiya, having trouble getting the PH levels right in my tank, its sitting around 7.6 at the moment, been using a PH down solution but doesn't seem to be bringing it down much at all. Any suggestions?

Please do not continue trying to mess with the pH. Your fish will be able to adjust to pretty much any pH from 6-9. Messing with the pH and causing fluctuations is extremely stressful on the fish.

A pH of 7.6 is fine. Mine is even higher than that. Plus, the pH down stuff is not permanent. After adding it, you will notice the pH start to climb, again. This will do nothing but stress out your fish. pH changes are very, very stressful and it's best to not mess with them at all.

Best to leave your pH the way it is naturally - bettas aren't picky about pH and can live just fine in a wide range of pH. Fluctuating pH can cause them to go into shock if it jumps/dips too quickly. Safer to let it be what it is normally.. 7.6 is rather good.

Thanks for the info, I've not put fish in yet, just wanted to make sure I was getting the tank suitable before putting in the fish. Looks like I will leave it be then, thanks once again :)

You are welcome. :) When you add the fish, just acclimate him/her slowly. After they've been acclimated to your water, you won't ever have to worry about pH as long as the water is coming from the same source.
